Kleinbard LLC served as lead counsel to Almo Corporation, a family-owned distributor of appliances, consumer electronics, professional Audio/Video equipment, furniture, and housewares in the United States, and its shareholders, in its over $600 million sale to DCC Technology, an Ireland-based distributor of consumer, business, and enterprise products from technology brands.

The transaction was led by partner Bill Hussey and included, Howard Davis and Ana Calves, a partner and associate in the Business & Finance Department; Franca Tavella, an associate in the Trusts & Estates Practice, and Ashley Freeby, an assistant to the Trusts & Estates Practice.

The purchase of Almo Corporation is the largest in history for DCC plc, the parent company of DCC Technology, which trades as Exertis. As a result of the transaction, Almo’s Pro Av business will combine with Exertis in North America to operate as Exertis Almo Pro AV. In addition, Almo’s business in consumer appliances and lifestyle products will add scale to Exertis North America’s business in the consumer channel. Both companies will benefit from an increase in financial and supply chain resources, improved business opportunities, potential for profit and increased value for vendors and partners.
