Kleinbard LLC proudly congratulates its team the “Runaround Sues” for surpassing their fundraising goals and achieving top team and individual fundraisers at the 2015 Colon Cancer Alliance Undy Run/Walk. The Kleinbard team was inspired by a member of Kleinbard’s staff who lost her sister to colon cancer. The team’s desire was to honor their fellow colleague’s sister and to raise awareness about colon cancer, currently one of the top three cancer killers.
Mary Zove, Kleinbard’s Director of Administration, launched the fundraising effort by donating the $1 proceeds charged by the firm for wearing jeans on Friday in the summer to the event. Once awareness spread around the firm, more employees got involved in the team and by donating money to the event. The Runaround Sues were successful in recruiting corporate sponsors to help support their team, securing them as the top team fundraisers for the event and earning Mary top individual fundraiser. “The results speak for themselves,” said Mary, “the Kleinbard crew rallied around their fellow colleague and showed an exceptional commitment and level of teamwork that one can only hope to achieve in the workplace. I am very proud of our efforts and contribution to the Colon Cancer Alliance.”
The Undy Run/Walk was held on Saturday, September 12th on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Philadelphia. “Funds raised from the 2015 Philadelphia Undy Run/Walk help the Colon Cancer Alliance provide critical patient support and prevention services to more than one million individuals across the United States each year. Locally, the 2015 Philadelphia Undy Run/Walk is also funding the Blue Hope Partnership Program. We have partnered with University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center to remove screening barriers for West Philadelphia residents.
