Eric J. Pritchard, a partner at the law firm of Kleinbard LLC, was recently re-appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners to serve an additional 5-year term on the board of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Authority (“IDA”). Pritchard has chaired the IDA since 2014.
The IDA provides tax exempt financing to manufacturers, non-profits and other eligible entities. Tax exempt financing permits private market lenders to lend to qualified borrowers on a tax exempt basis, lowering the borrower’s cost of funds.
Pritchard is a partner in Kleinbard’s Government Relations and Business and Finance Departments and Co-Chairs the firm’s Electronic Security Alarm Group. He has more than 25 years of experience providing legal, business and operational advice and guidance to middle market companies, start-up ventures, and entrepreneurs and often serves as in-house counsel for his clients. Pritchard’s blended experience as a former litigator, a lobbyist and a transactional lawyer affords him a unique perspective on risk allocation and related transactional issues.
