Kleinbard LLC is proud to announce that Diego Matamoros and Elizabeth Roggio have joined the Firm as associates in the Business and Finance Department.

Diego’s practice includes the representation of middle-market businesses in the healthcare, infrastructure, and technology sectors. He has significant experience representing corporate and fund borrowers in secured financing transactions, and in handling general corporate and transactional matters.

Prior to joining Kleinbard, Diego was an associate in the Corporate Department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York.  Prior to becoming a lawyer, Diego was a professional opera singer, performing at leading venues around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Turin Royal Opera and at the Shanghai World Expo.

Diego earned his law degree from Yale Law School and he received his B.A., summa cum laude, from New York University.

Liz is an associate in the Business and Finance Department, and a member of the firm’s Government Relations Group. She advises businesses and non-profit organizations in a wide variety of corporate, finance, and governance matters.  Liz has experience representing companies in mergers and acquisitions (representing both sellers and buyers), corporate finance, business formation and governance, joint ventures, private equity offerings, real estate and other commercial transactions. In addition, Liz works with businesses, candidates and PACs to structure and manage their political activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Kleinbard, Liz was an associate at Dilworth Paxson LLP.  Liz’s political experience includes working for Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) beginning with his first Senate run in 2006.

Liz earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School where she was a member of Order of the Barristers and was the Associate Managing Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law.  She received her B.A. from Lehigh University.
