Kleinbard LLC is pleased to announce the addition of William Hussey and Franca Tavella as Partner and Associate in the Business and Finance Department. Hussey and Tavella join the firm’s high-caliber bench of attorneys and expand the breadth of services offered by the Trusts and Estates practice, which provides clients with creative solutions customized to meet specific business goals, family circumstances, and needs.

Hussey and Tavella join the firm from White and Williams LLP in Philadelphia. Hussey focuses his practice on Private Client Services, including advising businesses and their owners on business operations and transactions, with a particular emphasis on federal, state, local and international tax issues, and also counseling individuals and fiduciaries on estate and trust planning and administration. Tavella works closely with individuals and families to prepare estate plans and preserve wealth, with a unique specialization in representing individuals in Orphans’ Court in relation to guardianship proceedings.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Bill and Franca to the firm as we continue to grow our Trusts and Estates practice,” said Michael Frattone, Managing Partner at Kleinbard. “As the baby boomer generation ages, we’re strategically expanding to serve the evolving needs of clients. Bill and Franca complement the firm’s existing roster of attorneys and allow us to provide a more comprehensive array of legal services.”

Prior to joining Kleinbard, Hussey spent nearly two decades at White and Williams. As chair of the firm’s Tax and Estates practice group, he specialized in all manners of taxation, including foreign, federal and state income taxation of individuals, corporations, partnerships and other business entities, as well as estate planning and administration. Hussy earned his B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and his JD, MBA and LLM from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law.

“Kleinbard fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and allows the opportunity to be nimble in the ever-changing legal landscape,” said Hussey. “I’m looking forward to working closely with the Business and Finance Department to provide new and existing clients with sophisticated, highly tailored legal counsel.”

Tavella boasts extensive experience serving as a Judicial Clerk to the Hon. Matthew D. Carrafiello in the Orphans’ Court Division of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. In addition, she spent several years with Hawthorn, PNC’s Family Wealth arm for ultra-affluent families. Tavella graduated with a B.A. from Saint Joseph’s University and earned her JD at Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law.

The announcement comes on the heels of several years of expansion for Kleinbard. Over the last two years, the firm welcomed 11 new attorneys and moved into a new office at Three Logan Square. In 2019, Kleinbard also added James Gorman III as a Litigation Associate and Real Estate Partner Kelly Anne Donohoe, former co-founding partner of Silverang, Donohoe, Rosenzweig & Haltzman LLC.
