Joe Valane is an associate in the Business and Finance Department. His broad-based corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions (representing both buyers and sellers), corporate financing and restructuring, business formation and growth issues, commercial contracts, and general corporate counseling.
Joe has extensive experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions, having successfully closed more than 100 asset- and stock-based transactions in the last 5 years. Additionally, Joe counsels many newly formed and middle market companies across a wide variety of industries with respect to their transactional and day-to-day operational needs.
Joe has also developed a sophisticated knowledge of equity finance and investment structuring. In the first quarter of 2017, Joe served as lead fund counsel for a large telecommunications infrastructure company in three separate fundraisings totaling over $1.2 billion of committed equity capital, and he also represented a management group in securing a $250 million investment from a large private equity fund.
Joe is currently the Co-Chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Prior to joining Kleinbard, Joe was a corporate and securities associate in the Philadelphia office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
