David Hyman has been practicing law in Philadelphia since 1980. He is Practice Leader of the Government Relations Group and served as a managing partner of the Firm from 2004-2017. David advises a wide range of clients regarding their interest with municipal and state government. On a daily basis, he interacts with elected and appointed officials in Philadelphia, the region, and Harrisburg.

Recognition & Accomplishments
David serves as Vice-Chair of the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development Board. He has also served as the Mayor’s representative to the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation Board and on the Mayor’s Commission on Gaming. David was also a founding Board Member and Mayoral appointee to the Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing Corporation Board (now Visit Philadelphia). In addition, he serves on the Board of the Building Industry Association.
David has also served as Chairman of the Board overseeing the Philadelphia Gas Works.
Among various community recognitions, David received Operation Understandings 2013 George M. Ross Award and is a past recipient of Eisenhower Exchange and Wexner Heritage Fellowships and the Judge Learned Hand Award. In 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, he was selected to participate in the Economy League’s Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining the firm, David was a partner at Cohen Shapiro Polisher Shiekman & Cohen.
He also served as Chief of Staff to a Philadelphia City Councilman.
David is past President and a current Board Member of both the American Jewish Committee’s Philadelphia Chapter and Congregation Kol Ami. He served as a Founding Board Member of Congregation Kol Ami in 1994. In addition, he is a past President of Operation Understanding and The Association for Independent Growth.
